Ready to join the Crew!!

The Lakehead University Rowing Club (LURC) is the competitive rowing crew comprised of Lakehead University students. The team was approved in 2019 by Lakehead University, the Canadian University Rowing Association, and Rowing Canada Aviron to compete as a collegiate team. On-water training takes place at the Thunder Bay Rowing Club. LURC compete against other Canadian and American Universities and hone their abilities in a supportive team atmosphere.

As a city, Thunder Bay has had a long history of success in sports, and much of that success can be attributed to the students at Lakehead University. LURC aims to showcase Lakehead University’s strong athletic spirit in rowing competitions. The Thunder Bay Rowing Club is supportive and willing to provide the training grounds for such a club on the Kaministiqua river.
