First ever Thunder Bay Indoor Rowing Championship
On April 5th, 2025, the Thunder Bay Rowing Club proudly hosted the inaugural Thunder Bay Indoor Rowing Championship at Superior CrossFit. The event brought together a diverse group of competitors, from seasoned athletes to first-time rowers, all united by the challenge of a 2,000-meter race on the rowing machines. With a full house and high-energy atmosphere, the competition delivered intense moments, personal bests, and plenty of cheering from fellow rowers and spectators alike.
This championship marks a major milestone for the Thunder Bay Rowing Club in its mission to grow and promote the sport of rowing within the community. The event not only showcased the athleticism and determination of the participants but also the power of community support and shared passion. A heartfelt thank-you goes out to everyone who participated, volunteered, and came out to support. We’re already looking forward to making next year’s event even bigger and better!
Hanna Abbink (forefront) raced her way to first place in the Junior Girls category and secured an impressive second place overall among the women.
